Balai Island had nothing touristy to offer us; we were not the common tourists who do sight-seeing, shopped and dined. We were there for one thing—girls.
With a young and pretty girl each in our arms, we sat at the hotel’s rooftop balcony and started our drinking session. The night was a fabulous one—we joked, teased the girls, and drank to our hearts’ content. We only stopped drinking when the girls began to retire to the rooms one after another; the liquor had just been too much for them.
Soon, we too stopped drinking and left for our rooms. Once in my room, I undressed and jumped into bed. I caressed my girl’s back and made her active again. We had loads of fun with each other. I only slept around 3 o’clock in the morning.
Whilst in my sleep, I heard a strange humming sound. It sounded almost like someone was crying or praying. The sound persisted long enough to raise me from deep sleep. When I opened my eyes, I was shocked to see an old woman squatting on a chair near the foot of the bed. Her face was so filled with deep rivers of wrinkles that I couldn’t see much facial features. It was as if I was looking at a big ball of crumpled paper that had been shaped into a human face. It was truly horrendous.
Startled and in panic, I tried to get up. Strangely, I couldn’t. I struggled violently, but I could not move an inch. What freaked me further was that I could see I had two pairs of arms and legs. The translucent pair was struggling while the other was still. It was as though I was looking at my non-corporeal limbs moving while my physical limbs remained asleep.
Looking between my two pairs of legs, I saw the woman lifting her hand. She waved her forefinger at me as if accusing me of something. I tried to scream, but it seemed that even my larynx had become numb. I struggled further; my translucent limbs were kicking and waving desperately but my physical body remained unmoved.
Suddenly, the woman raised her upper lip and showed me her red teeth. Her expression turned; she became angry and hissed at me. Then, just like that, she vanished!
“Wah!” My breath leapt from my mouth as my eyes flashed open.
Cringing at the edge of the bed, I heaved to catch my breath. Then I turned to look at my girl. She was asleep, oblivious to what was happening to me.
What the hell was that? I wondered as I dragged my heavy feet to the bathroom.
As minutes passed, the dreadful experience turned more dream-like. I had to keep reminding myself that the ugly, old witch was not a dream. She was real.
I hope someone reading my story can give me some clues as to what or who the hag was. Was she a vampire, demon, witch, or just a lost human soul? Why was she angry at me?
I’m afraid, but I’m trying not to let it bother me.
